#9 Camacho Liberty 2010

“30 Cigars in 31 Days” just continues to move full steam ahead.   We have now entered the Top 10 of my countdown of the Top 30 Cigars for 2010.  It is time for the 22nd installment of this list.

Coming at #9 is the Camacho Liberty 2010 edition. This is a limited run cigar. Camacho releases a limited number of a sticks blended specifically for the year.  Each stick is put into its own individual coffin-like box and numbered.  From year to year the blend and design of the stick changes.  For the 2010 edition, there were 40,000 sticks made by Camacho. Each coffin box is individually numbered.

This year’s edition is Camacho’s trademark 11/18 shape which represents a Figuardo.  This stick features a beautiful Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper with Honduran binder and a blend of Dominican Long Filler and Honduran Corojo Ligero. In a year where I feel Honduran tobacco took a back-seat to Nicaraguan tobacco in a lot of new sticks, I was glad to see a very good stick emerge with tobacco from Honduras.

The flavor notes were terrific – and definitely a complex cigar!.  Throughout the smoke it features cedar, fruit, nutmeg, cream, and some unique notes of butter and mesquite.  It had a good burn and excellent draw.  This one is great right to the nub.  From a strength and body perspective, this is medium to full.
