Formerly the
limited-availability Lancero
Limitado now joins the J. Grotto Series
Reserve
boutique cigars as a regular-production shape

Ocean State Cigars’ J. Grotto Reserve Lancero, a line extension introduced in 2012 by Paul Joyal will become a core offering in the company’s cigar portfolio.  This announcement was made in a press release by Ocean State Cigars.

It was one year ago when the cigar was introduced as the J. Grotto Reserve Lancero Limitado.   The cigar was originally introduced as an incentive cigar to top tier Ocean State Cigar accounts, with each shop receiving only four boxes of ten cigars, to be used at in-store events.  Based on demand, Joyal made the decision to offer the cigar as a regular production line.  The cigars are expected to reach retailers in August.

The J. Grotto Reserve Lancero is a 7 1/2 x 41 sized cigar carrying an SRP of $8.95. The lancero became the fifth vitola in the line joining the Gran Corona (5-5/8 X 46),  Gran Robusto (5 X 52), Gran Toro (6 x 52 ), Gordo (6 x 60).  The cigars feature  three-year aged select tobaccos: a Nicaragua-grown Criollo 99 wrapper, a Criollo 98 binder, and a filler of Honduran-grown ligero and Jalapa leaves.
