Pre-Release of the 1502 Black Gold Corona

Global Premium Cigars founder Enrique Sanchez Icaza was on hand at the 2013 Lite Up Charlotte Cigar Festival in Charlotte, North Carolina.  He shared with us a new line extension he has planned for his 1502 Black Gold line – a Corona.

Sanchez said the Black Gold is targeted for an early release next year. The Corona frontmark would become the fifth vitola in this line of cigars.

Earlier this year at the 2013 IPCPR Trade Show, Sanchez debuted the 6 x 56 Conquistador vitola.  This vitola represented the largest ring gauge in the line to date.  For the Corona, Sanchez goes in the opposite direction heading for the smaller ring gauge.

The 1502 Black Gold is one of three lines under Global Premium Cigars 1502 lines.  It is considered the blend to have the most strength and body among the three releases.  All of the cigars in the Black Gold line are box-pressed.  In addition to the upcoming Corona and Conquistador, the 1502 Black is available in a Robusto, Toro, and Torpedo.  The blend features a San Andres Maduro wrapper with a double binder and filler tobacco from Nicaragua.

Global Premium Cigars is one of the companies that make up the House of Emilio distribution arm.
