“When (company president Rafael) Nodal talked to the media at the 2013 IPCPR, you can see him beaming with pride when it came to the Aging Room Maduro. He knew he had a winner, and from smoking this cigar – it totally lives up to the expectations.”

#14 – Aging Room Maduro by Boutique Blends

Coming in at #14 on the 2013 Cigar of the Year countdown is the Aging Room Maduro by Boutique Blends.  This cigar became the second core line to be offered under Boutique Blends’ Aging Room Cigars line.

The Aging Room Maduro gives Boutique Blends (also counting appearances by Oliveros Cigar) its fourth appearance on the Cigar of the Year countdown in the last five years. This marks the first appearance for the Aging Room Cigars line.  The year of the maduro continues as this becomes the seventh maduro to earn a place on the countdown.

The Aging Room Maduro delivers a healthy dose of pepper, but it is also nicely balanced with notes of espresso and hazelnut sweetness.  I definitely would categorize this as an “amp’d up maduro” with a lot of firepower.  Both the strength and body start out medium to full, but both progress to full.  I found the strength of this cigar sneaks up on you – especially in the second half.
