A few weeks ago, Davidoff announced a new extension to its Primeros line under the banner of Davidoff Primeros Nicaragua. Coinciding with this new release will be a rebranding of the current Davidoff Primeros line under the banner of Davidoff Primeros Dominican.
The Davidoff Primeros line is an offering of what are called petit panatelas measuring 4 1/8 x 34 cigarillo offerings packaged in six count tins. In addition to the rebranding of Davidoff Primeros as Davidoff Primeros Dominican, the banding and packaging will be updated to reflect the change. There will be no changes to this existing blend. Like the existing Primeros, there will be an Ecuadorian Connecticut and Ecuadorian Maduro option.

As we mentioned in our initial report on the Davidoff Nicaragua line extensions, there will be both a Davidoff Primeros Nicaraguan and a Davidoff Primeros Nicaraguan Maduro. Both will be different blends than the core Davidoff Nicaragua line. Both will feature Nicaraguan tobacco, but will not be Nicaraguan puros. The packaging will be similar to Davidoff Nicaragua.

The company is using the theme “Fifteen Minutes of Adventure” for the Primeros line. According to Charles Awad, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Innovation at Oettinger Davidoff AG, “Fifteen minutes of adventure can be filled beautifully, thanks to Davidoff. With our hand- crafted Nicaragua Primeros, our aim is to delight aficionados, who are in the mood for short adventures in today’s hectic lives, with an exciting taste experience.”
The Davidoff Primeros Dominican and the Davidoff Primeros Nicaraguan lines are expected to start shipping in July.
