Talks of creating a A.J. Fernandez Lounge began in December 2013 when Moody and store manager Jeff Watkins traveled to Nicaragua.  During a visit to the A.J. Fernandez factory, the duo struck a friendship with A.J. Fernandez.  This soon led to talks of creating the A.J. Fernandez Lounge for The Perfect Smoke.

“I came away very impressed with A.J. as a person, and his first class operation in Nicaragua. I myself, being a huge fan of his cigars, felt inspired to create the A.J. Fernandez Lounge,” said Moody in a press release announcing the lounge.

The lounge is known for some of the art work present there.  Once you are inside the A.J. Fernandez lounge, there is a life sized mural of Fernandez standing in front of his curing barn at the San Lotano fields.  The lounge is also adorned with images of Fernandez either rolling new blends and fields.  The lounge is furnished with dark leather furniture.  Of course, the A.J. Fernandez logo appears throughout the lounge along with boxes and branded material.

The Victorian home helps make The Perfect Smoke one of the most unique shops in America.  The shop has different rooms that have different themes such as a golf theme, a train theme, a hunting theme, and a library.  The shop is located in Salisbury, North Carolina’s historic district.  In fact, Moody was recognized by the Historic Salisbury Foundation for revitalizing the building.
