Earlier this week, Cigar Aficionado reported the La Palina Family Series will have a new home.  This time it will be in a place that La Palna Cigars owner Bill Paley is very familiar with, El Titan de Bronze in Little Havana, Miami, Florida.  La Palina will move production of the Family Series from the Graycliff Cigar Factory in the Bahamas to Calle Ocho.  Three sizes will now be produced out of El Titan de Bronze and receive new blends.

The Family Series was La Palina’s first line released back in 2010.  There were two blends, the La Palina Family Series, and the La Palina Family Series “Ligero”.  There was also a limited cigar called the La Palina 1896.  The new production will appears to consolidate the line based on a common blend.  The three frontmarks moving to El Titan de Bronze are the Alison (from the Family Series Ligero) as well as the Babe and Pasha (from the Family Series)

The Alison is a 6 x 52 torpedo vitola named for founder Bill Paley’s wife.  The Babe is a 5 1/4 x 50 Robusto named for Paley’s mother, and the Pasha is what was described as a “brushed footed ” (a.k.a shagged foot) Churchill named for Paley’s father William S. Paley.  According to Cigar Aficionado the brushed foot on the new Pasha will be 1/4 shorter than the original.

No word was mentioned on the fate of the 1896 or of the Little Bill offering (a 4 1/2 x 52 perfecto using the Ligero blend).

The Pasha will debut first and will be packaged in boxes of 20, with each cigar packaged in a coffin box.  The Alison and Babe are expected to be launched at the 2015 IPCPR Trade Show.  The Babe and Alison will be packaged in 10 count boxes.

The La Palina Family Series scored #5 and #7 on the 2010 Cigar Coop Cigar of the Year countdown.

El Titan de Bronze produces the limited edition La Palina Collection (Goldie Series) and the regular production La Palina Mr. Sam.
