Mombacho Cigars S.A. makers of the Tierra Volcan line of cigars has announced the appointment of Shahriar (Shar) Broumand as company President. In his role, Broumand will oversee all company operations with a primary focus on international and U.S. market development. The move is effective this past April 1st.

Prior to joining Mombacho Cigars S.A., Broumand spent 20 years as an executive in business development.  Most recently, he was with Ventyx where he led the global Managed Services business.  Prior to that he held senior positions at Ariba and Royal Bank of Scotland. In the cigar world, he is best known for being a partner in Las Vegas, Nevada’s En Fuego Cigars and Lounge.

Since 2006 Mombacho has established itself as one of the world’s great cigar brands and with the recent opening of their world-class factory in Granada they are positioned for future growth in an ever-changing cigar industry. Mombacho Cigars S.A. Co-Founders Cameron Heaps and Markus Raty issued a joint statement saying, “we are very pleased and honored to officially welcome Shar to the Mombacho family. Shar has extensive experience as an internationally respected business builder, he is an avid cigar enthusiast, has wide-ranging relationships within the industry and most importantly embodies the core values that define Mombacho Cigars.”

It was in 2014 when Tierra Volcan Cigars entered the U.S. market.  The company entered into a distribution agreement with RoMa Craft Tobac.
