“I found this cigar to have a nice amount of complexity to keep me very interested from start to finish. I also was very impressed with this blend in the perfecto format.”

Review: Senorial 65th Anniversary Perfecto Elegance by Las Cumbres Tabaco
Brand Appearances on Countdown: 2 (2014, 2015)

Coming in at #16 is the Senorial 65th Anniversary Perfecto Elegance by Las Cumbres Tabaco. This was a cigar released in December 2014 to commemorate company founder Jose Blanco’s 65th birthday. This was the second blend released by Las Cumbres Tabaco as well as its first limited edition. It also marks the second consecutive year Las Cumbres Tabaco has landed on the Countdown.

The Senorial 65th Anniversary is a 5 3/4 x 55 perfecto known as the Perfecto Elegance. The cigar itself is a Dominican puro featuring tobaccos that are 5 to 6 years old coming from the La Canela, Jacagua,  and Gurabo farms located in the Dominican Republic. The total production for this limited release is 20,000. Each of the cigars was rolled by some of the most experienced rollers at the Tabacalera Palma factory (where Las Cumbres cigars are made).

The flavor profile of the Senorial 65th Anniversary Perfecto Elegance delivers notes of earth, grain, cinnamon spice, and a unique plum flavor. This is a cigar that progresses in both strength and body as the cigar experience progresses. The flavors start out medium to full-bodied and progress to full-bodied by the last third. Meanwhile the strength stars out medium and by the end of the cigar is operating at full strength.

Overall, this is a complex blend with many flavor nuances and lots of flavor transitions. This blend seemed tailor-made for the perfecto-format. The flavors are very unique for a Dominican puro and this makes it worthy of being on this year’s list. It’s a cigar definitely worth getting your hands on before the supplies are exhausted.
