At the 2016 IPCPR Trade Show in Las Vegas, Joya de Nicaragua will introduce its second blend under its “Joya” brand. The Joya Black will introduce the company’s first Mexican San Andres Cigar.
In addition to the San Andres wrapper, Joya Black will also incorporate Nicaraguan tobacco in the binder and filler. The cigars will be launched in four sizes packaged in 20 count boxes. Pricing is $5.50 to $8.00.
While the Joya Black is the first Joya de Nicaragua branded cigar, it is not the first cigar to come out of the company’s Joya de Nicaragua factory to use this wrapper. Most recently Omar de Frias’ Fratello Bianco has incorporated this wrapper into the blend.
According to Joya de Nicaragua, the Joya Black was a collaboration between from what the company describes as the youngest executive team in the industry with senior master blenders from Nicaragua.
“Since its inception in 2013, the JOYA brand has pushed the limits of our factory and showcased a new side of our people and our products. Varying from fun, and easy smokes like Joya Red, to sophisticated and more complex smoking experiences such as the new Joya Black, and together with new upcoming variants, JOYA’s portfolio will continue to generate excitement among modern smokers and make their smoking journey much more rewarding.“ commented Juan Ignacio Martínez, President of Joya de Nicaragua in a press release.
“This is Joya de Nicaragua’s first cigar to feature a Mexican San Andres Negro wrapper. We have had these wrappers available for some time and we wanted to create a blend with rich Nicaraguan tobacco, yet without the overpowering strength. The result is a balanced, rich and pleasant smoking experience – the type of experience the new JOYA brand is known for as demonstrated by the release of Joya Red” commented Mario Perez, Factory Manager.
Joya Black follows 2014’s Joya Red, a all-Nicaraguan puro that incorporates a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper.
