The Balmoral Anejo XO is a follow up to the limited Balmoral Royal Selection Anejo 18.  The original Anejo 18 was a limited production that was gated by the availability of a rare 18 year old Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper. In order to continue Anejo a line based on aged tobaccos, Royal Agio has now introduced the Balmoral Anejo XO.  The main difference between the two is the Anejo XO features a different Brazilian wrapper.

The new Balmoral Anejo XO Lancero FT will have a total production of 1,250 boxes of 10 cigars, of which 500 boxes will be allocated to the United States Market. According to the company, there it is more labor intensive to roll the lancero, this the reason for the limited availability. The FT stands for “Flag Tail”, in for the unique tail which is affixed to the cap of the cigar. The Petit Robusto size of the Balmoral Anejo XO also has this designation as it also has a flag-tail on the cap.
