While Southern Draw Cigars was not at the 2016 IPCPR Convention and Trade Show, the company has busy. This week, Southern Draw Cigars made a series of new announcements highlighted by two new blends. One of those new blends features a Pennsylvania wrapper known as Jacobs Ladder.

Jacobs Ladder joins the newly announced Rose of Sharon as the two new blends entering the Southern Draw Cigars portfolio. Both blends were planned to be released in 2017 and 2018, but like many companies, the pending FDA regulations have changed plans. According to Southern Draw, both cigars will be have limited production.

Southern Draw Cigars has employed a theme of naming its core lines after flowering plants. In a press release by the company it says it “Jacobs Ladder is a handsome flowering plant noted for medicinal value dating back to ancient Greece, Jacobs Ladder is also the colloquial name for the connection between heaven and earth that Jacob, son of Isaac, dreamed about in the book of Genesis. This brand has symbolic reference to Ethan ‘Jacob’ Holt, son of two Southern Draw Cigars founders, who also offers sales, shipping and technical support to the Company. ”

The blend for Jacobs consists of a Pennsylvania wrapper, Ecuadorian binder, and Nicaraguan filler. As with all Southern Draw offerings the cigar is being produced at Tabacalera Fernandez.
