J.C. Newman Diamond Crown Black Diamond

The wait is finally over. J.C. Newman Cigar Company has announced on its website that November 25, 2016 aka “Black Friday” is the official day for the long awaited release of its Diamond Crown Black Diamond. This is a new Maduro offering under J.C. Newman’s Diamond Crown brand. The company says this limited production release is heading to its Diamond Crown branded lounge retailers.

This has been a project three years waiting. In 2013, there had been plans for the Diamond Crown Maduro to rebranded as Black Diamond. Instead, this developed into a full blown project by which the Newmans solicited input from consumers and retailers.  The cigar was handed out at the 2015 IPCPR Trade Show in New Orleans, but it didn’t ship. This year, it was showcased at the 2016 IPCPR Trade Show. The initial launch event took place at TAO Las Vegas during the Trade Show. Following the Trade Show, a limited launch was done to select retailers.

Produced by the Fuente family, the Black Diamond features a Connecticut Havana seed Sun Grown Maduro wrapper over a Dominican binder and Dominican filler from the Chateau de la Fuente farms. The Dominican tobaccos were exclusively grown on special four acre section of the Fuente farms and aged five years.

The cigars are available in three sizes Emerald (6 x 52), Radiant (4 1/2 x 54), and Marquis (5 1/4 x 56). Each of the three sizes are available in 20 count boxes.  A list of retailers carrying the Black Diamond is available on the Diamond Crown website.
