#23: Rocky Patel 15th Anniversary

It’s the beginning of the second week of “30 Sticks in 31 Days” – the list of the Top 30 Cigars for 2010.   Today I reveal the eighth installment of this list.

Coming in at #23 is the Rocky Patel 15th Anniversary.   Last year, I considered 2009 an off-year for the Rocky Patel brand, but this year I feel Rocky came back with a very good stick.   It might be #23 on this year’s list, but remember 2010 was an ultra-competitive year for new releases – therefore this would have probably been a Top 15 stick in other years.

The Rocky Patel 15th Anniversary was released shortly before the 2010 IPCPR show.  It was a stick to commemorate Rocky Patel’s 15th year in the cigar industry.  The stick is a very impressive boxpress stick.   It has an beautiful Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with a Nicaraguan Jalapa binder and Nicaraguan fillers.   I was glad to see some terrific complexity to this stick  It contained some nice cedar spice, coffee notes, and nice hints of cinnamon.   I assessed this as a stick of medium strength and medium to full body.
