It seems like 2011 is going to be a huge year for E.P. Carrillo for new cigars.

E.P. Carrillo Limitada 2011

On this past weekend’s Cigar Dave show, Cigar Dave sampled a prototype of the new E.P. Carrillo Limitada 2011.    This has all of the makings of a top cigar – and it is expected to be a full bodied cigar.   He posted a picture on Twitter.  While the binder and filler appear set for the Limitada 2011, there is a question on what the wrapper will be.  What I heard today on the show is that it will be a Connecticut Broadleaf or Mexican Maduro (assuming San Andreas).   Cigar Dave’s version had the Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, but word is a Mexican Maduro  prototype is in the works.  There will also be a double-binder featuring Ecuadorian Sumatra and Connecticut Broadleaf tobaccos.  The filler will have four ligero fillers.

Composition summary of the 2011 E.P. Carrillo Limitada 2011:

Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf or Mexican Maduro (Still TBD)
Filler: Ecuadorian Sumatra, Connecticut Broadleaf (Firm)
Filler: Four Ligero Fillers (Firm)

The planned size is a 6 1/2 x 56 Super Toro and will be sold in boxes of 10 and only about 1000 – 1500 boxes.   The planned timeframe is October or November of this year – well after IPCPR 2011.

E.P. Carrillo Elencos

The 2010 Limitada (6 x 54) is going to be brought into a full line called Elencos and will expand to 3 sizes (a Torpedo and Robusto will be added).  This should be very interesting.   The timeframe is early May for the release.

Update (3/20/11):  Click here for detailed information on the EPC Elenocs.

E.P. Carrillo New Weave Connecticut Series

The April/May timeframe will feature plans for a new core line Connecticut.   This will be an Ecuadorian grown Connecticut shade.   The flavor profile is mild to medium.  This is being called the NWC Series.

Update (3/20/11): Click here for detailed information on the EPC NWC Series.

E.P. Carrillo Short Run 2011

A new Short Run is being planned for the June timeframe and will feature an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and be on the medium to full side.

E.P. Carrillo Maduro

As I mentioned back in January, I received a sample of the upcoming E.P. Carrillo Maduro.  This is an extension to the core line.  I have not tried this yet, but plan on it very soon  This is being targeted for the launch at IPCPR 2011 in July.  There are four planned vitolas in this size.

Additional information beyond the Cigar Dave link can be found on the Stogie Review as there is a video featuring Ernesto Perez Carrillo who discusses the pipeline for 2011.
