Not an exclusive story or an inside scoop, but some interesting news was made on the 5/14/2011 Cigar Dave Show.

This afternoon, Jeff Borysiewicz – the President of Corona Cigars was on the show to provide color commentary to Cigar Dave’s Annual Cigar Draft.  During the show, Cigar Dave asked Borysiewicz about the rumors that the IPCPR show would be returning to the Sunshine State in 2012.

Borysiewicz, an IPCPR board member replied: It’s not a rumor, the contract should be signed this week.  We’re gonna bring that show back to Florida.. . we had to fight tooth and nail to bring that show back.”

If this is finalized, congratulations to Borysiewicz and all involved in successfully bringing the show back to Florida.  Florida is the center of the cigar industry and it deserves to have the retail world descend on the city of Orlando.  No doubt, most of the fight to bring the show back revolved around the smoking restrictions in the city of Orlando.  Borysiewicz has been stating publicly for over a year on his desire to bring IPCPR back to Orlando on both Cigar Dave and the press.  Borysiewicz has proven to be one of the great people in our industry fighting for cigar rights, so this must be considered a huge victory once the ink dries.

Borysiewicz also mentioned he hopes to have the show alternate between Las Vegas Nevada (where the 2011 show will be held) and Orlando Florida.   These cities have top notch convention centers and hotels and are more than capable.   They will do a great job in bringing the retailers of the world together.

The podcast that contains the word on this can be found by clicking here.  It is in the first 15 minutes of the show.

Once I hear some official word, I’ll follow up with some more news.
