La Duena by My Father Cigar

At the 2012 IPCPR Trade Show, the La Duena Cigar was officially unveiled.   This cigar has been long-awaited by many cigar enthusiasts and fans of My Father Cigars.

This cigar originally started out as the “Janny Garcia” (daughter of Don Pepin Garcia) cigar.  The cigar was blended by Tatuaje’s Pete Johnson.  This is a reverse of things as usually the Garcia family does blending for Johnson’s company.

The La Duena was the one new line that was launched at the cigar by My Father Cigars.  Earlier this year the company launched Flor de las Antillas and in July shipped the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Limited Edition 2012.

The cigars will be packaged in boxes of 21.  Here are the particulars of the cigar.

Blend Profile

Many cigar fans will notice this blend is very similar to the Connecticut Broadleaf puro La Casita Criolla released by Tatuaje last year.  The difference is that some Nicaraguan tobacco has been added to the binder and filler.

Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf
Binder: Connecticut Broadleaf and Nicaraguan
Filler: Connecticut Broadleaf and Nicaraguan

Vitolas Available

The La Duena will be available in five vitolas.   The interesting point is that the vitolas are sewed more toward either shorter length or thinner ring gauge.
