Hendrik Kelner, Jr. the son of Davidoff Master Blender Hendrik “Henke” Kelner is getting ready to launch his long awaited Smoking Jacket Cigar.  Kelner, Jr. posted some information on his Facebook page confirming the cigar would be coming out this summer at the 2013 IPCPR Trade Show.

The launch of the Smoking Jacket Cigar has been on the radar of many for some time now and Kelner Jr. has posted several pictures on his Facebook page over the past few weeks.  It is well known that Kelner, Jr. has been operating out of his Kelner Boutique Factory (KBF) in the Dominican Republic.  It has been reported that he has been producing some private blends.

Kelner, Jr. has said the Smoking Jacket will be launched in four sizes with very limited supply for the first couple of years.  According to a recent article in Cigar Aficionado, the Smoking Jacket will be launched in two varieties – with one being distributed in the United States.  Details of the blends have not been disclosed, but according to the Cigar Aficionado report at least one will have an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper.  The sizes were not disclosed, but a reference to a review on Cigar Federation referenced one size with was a “corona/corona gorda” size.

Kelner, Jr. also has said that Davidoff will be the distributor for the Smoking Jacket.

Kelner Boutique Factory is also blending a cigar for a soon to be launched boutique cigar company called Cabal Cigars.
