As a part of a Cigar Industry Report we did this past December, we noted an interview that Crowned Heads co-founder Jon Huber did with Cigar Chat in which he mentioned that he was working on an exclusive cigar for Tobacconist Association of America (TAA) retailers.  With the TAA’s Annual Meeting and Conference scheduled from March 23rd to March 27th in Cabo San Lucas has come the announcement of this cigar.  Crowned Heads – The Angel’s Anvil TAA Exclusive will that cigar.  Information on this announcement was first reported by Cigar Insider and Cigar Aficionado.

According to the report, The Angel’s Anvil will be a cigar that will only be made available to attendees of the TAA meeting.  The cigar will be a 7 1/4 x 49 Churchill.  The cigar will be an all-new blend that will be made available to the TAA.  TAA releases by companies can vary between being all new blends or special line extensions.

The name mentions that The Angel’s Anvil is derived from a story of a fallen angel who finds his way back to heaven.  Huber draws this same analogy to his personal experience of the period from when General Cigar acquired CAO to the time he launched Crowned Heads.  The name “The Angel’s Anvil” also has the acronym “TAA”.

As per their web-site, the TAA is defined as: “The Tobacconists’ Association of America, Ltd. is a trade organization established in 1968 by visionary retail tobacconists. By providing education, communication, research, advocacy, and member discount programs, The TAA works with our members and the industry they support to offer the tools and relationship building opportunities needed to maximize professionalism and success.”
