Charlie Torano Capitva Churchill

Former Torano Family Cigars President Charlie Torano had to wait a little longer, but the cigar bearing his name has finally made it to market.  Several retailers have been informed that they have received shipment of Torano’s eponymous named cigar, the Charlie Torano Capitva.  This marks the first significant release of a Torano product since General Cigar acquired the brands last September.

The name Capitva refers to a small island off the coast of Southwest Florida where Torano is known to vacation.  The cigar was announced prior to the 2014 IPCPR Trade Show.  While no specific release as given for why a launch date took so long, one can infer the acquisition put a monkey wrench into any release schedule.

The Charlie Torano Capitva features an Ecuadorian Wrapper over Nicaraguan filler.  It is available in four sizes – Robusto (5 x 52), Toro (6 x 50), BFC (6 x 60), and Churchill (7 x 47).  The cigars are packaged in 20 count boxes.

While the cigar is named for Charlie Torano, up until this point he has not had a visible public role with the brand under General Cigar’s watch.
