“Fratello Cigars has had some very impressive offerings since its launch, but with the Fratello Bianco I, this one has all of the makings of being the crown jewel of (Omar) De Frias’ portfolio. Simply put, this cigar is a home run.”

Country of Origin: Nicaragua
I: 6 1/4 x 44
Review: Fratello Bianco I
Brand Appearances on Countdown: 1 (2015)

Coming in at #20 is the Fratello Bianco I. This cigar became the second regular production line introduced by Omar de Frias’ Fratello Cigars.

The Bianco I is the company’s first Maduro offering. It the first cigar from Fratello Cigars to land on a Cigar Coop Countdown. Using a Mexican wrapper, the Fratello Bianco I also becomes the first San Andres Mexican wrapper cigar earn a spot on this year’s Countdown.

The Fratello Bianco I measures 6 1/4 x 44.  In addition to the San Andres wrapper, the Fratello Bianco consists of a Dominican binder, and a filler from Nicaragua, Peru, and Pennsylvania.

The Fratello Bianco I is highlighted by notes of roasted coffee, chocolate, white and black pepper. The middle of this cigar sees the chocolate and pepper notes come together creating what I have termed a “Mexican Hot Chocolate” flavor. Still, this cigar very much has a tobacco feel to it.

I found this cigar’s medium strength, medium-bodied profile worked perfectly with this cigar’s flavor profile. I also found the lonsdale-like (6 1/4 x 44) size of the Bianco I to work perfectly. This is a great example of a blend working well with San Andres wrapper – and its one worthy checking out.
