Cubariqueno Cigar Company, the company founded by Juan Cancel and Bill Ives is adding a third size to its Protocol line. This summer at the 2016 IPCPR Trade Show, the company will officially launch the Protocol Lancero.  The cigar will also have a soft-launch on Friday May 21, at Berkeley Wine and Humidor in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey.

The new lancero will be a 7 1/2 x 38 offering. The cigar will use the same Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and, Nicaraguan filler found in the Protocol line. The company says like all lancero offerings, the blend had to be tweaked slightly to maintain the intended flavor notes and proper draw.

The Protocol Lancero will be packaged in ten count boxes. Pricing has not been set at press time. As with all of Cubariqueno’s blends, the Protocol Lancero is being produced at Erik Espinosa’s La Zona factory.

“The Protocol Lancero is being introduced as a small-batch production depending on its success with possible increased production in the future,” said Ives in a press release.

In addition to the launch of the Protocol Lancero, the company is releasing an all new maduro offering called the Protocol Probable Cause. Both cigars will be soft-launched at the May 21st Berkeley Humidor event which will also commemorate Cubariqueno’s one year anniversary.

The company also announced they will be at the 2016 IPCPR Trade Show and will have its own booth.
