Camacho Cigars has announced its 2016 installment of its Liberty Series, the Camacho Liberty 2016. What is significant about this year’s release is that for the first time the Camacho Liberty will be heading for Europe. The Camacho Liberty 2016 is expected to ship to U.S. retailers on June 6 and to European retailers in November.

This year’s release pays homage to the 14th anniversary of the Liberty Series. It artwork displays a triangular folded U.S. Flag with 14 Stars on it. As usual the cigars are packaged in individual coffins, which adorn the artwork of the theme.

The cigar will feature Camacho’s signature 6 x 48 x 54 x 48 figurado shape. This year’s cigar features a Habano 2000 wrapper from Ecuador, and a Honduran Corojo binder. The filler is a combination of ligeros from Esteli Nicaragua and Mexico as well as Seco from Ometepe Nicaragua and San Vincente in the Domincan Republic.

The Camacho Liberty series is an annual limited production cigar that made its debut in 2002. Each year a new blend is released in a single vitola. A staple of the series is that the cigars are packaged in individual coffins. There will be 20 coffins packaged per box.

The U.S. allotment is the normal 2,000 boxes of twenty for a total of 40,000 boxes. This year an additional 1,000 boxes of twenty are being made for the European market.

While Camacho has not mentioned any specifics, it is possible to infer the European release could be a sign of the times to provide an avenue to market for limited edition products.
