For the first time in nearly four years, La Aurora Cigars has a new addition to its Preferidos line. At the 2016 IPCPR Trade Show, the Dominican company showcased the La Aurora 1903 Edition Preferidos Double Barrel Aged. This time, the focus on the release is less on the wrapper, but more on the process.

In the La Aurora 1903 Edition Preferidos series, the tobaccos used are aged for a minimum of three years before being rolled. With the La Aurora 1903 Edition Preferidos Double Barrel Aged, the cigars are aged in rum barrels an additional 90 days after being rolled.

The La Aurora 1903 Edition Preferidos Double Barrel Aged becomes the seventh installment in La Aurora’s Preferidos series. Consistent with the other installments, the cigar is packaged in La Aurora’s signature perfecto-shaped tube. The cigar is also packaged in 8 count boxes.

The one noticeable difference is the La Aurora 1903 Edition Preferidos Double Barrel Aged is not nicknamed with a jewel name (i.e. Diamond, Emerald, Sapphire, etc).
