At the 2016 IPCPR Trade Show, La Palina Cigars unveiled a line extension to its Mr. Sam line in the form of a 7 x 38 Lancero.

The La Palina Mr. Sam is named for the original founder of the La Palina brand, Samuel Paley (the grandfather of current La Palina Cigars owner Bill Paley). The line was originally launched in 2013 as an installment of the limited edition La Palina Collection. The Mr. Sam was originally launched as a 4 3/4 x 54 Robusto. A small run of 850 boxes of ten were produced. In 2014,  Mr. Sam became a regular production offering with two additional sizes added to the line – a with a 6 x 50 Toro and a 5 1/2 x 42 Corona.  The Mr. Sam Lancero becomes the fourth vitola in the line.

The La Palina Mr. Sam Lancero will be packaged in 20 count boxes. It is produced at the El Titan de Bronze factory in Miami, Florida.
