The La Palina Classic, a value-priced line introduced in 2012 by La Palina Cigars has undergone some big changes. Three new blends, that will be produced by General Cigar Dominicana in the Dominican Republic – La Palina Classic Connecticut, La Palina Classic Rosado, and La Palina Classic Maduro are being introduced. These three blends replace the original La Palina Classic that was being made at PDR Cigars for La Palina. Initial details of these new cigars were reported by Cigar Aficionado.

The new La Palina Classic Connecticut will feature an Ecuadorian Connecticut Seed wrapper over a Dominican binder and a combination of Dominican and Nicaraguan filler. The cigars are being initially offered in three sizes: Robusto (5 x 52), Toro (6 1/4 x 50), and Churchill (7 x 48).

The La Palina Classic Rosado is described as mostly Honduran blend with some Dominican and Nicaraguan tobacco used in the filler. La Palina Classic Rosado will be offered in three sizes: Robusto (5 1/2 x 50), Toro (6 1/4 x 52), and Lonsdale (6 1/2 x 44).

Finally, the La Palina Classic Maduro uses a Honduran wrapper and Honduran binder over a combination of Honduran, Nicaraguan, and Dominican fillers. It will be initially offered in three sizes: Robusto (5 x 52), Toro (6 1/4 x 50), and Gordo (6 x 60).

Each of the three offerings will be packaged in 20 count boxes.

Meanwhile, Cigar Aficionado has reported the original Brazilian Habano La Palina Classic blend will be discontinued. The Classic becomes the second La Palina line to switch factories and introduce revamped blends. In 2015, the company introduced the La Palina Family Series Miami, a line produced by El Titan de Bronze. This line replaced the original La Palina Family Series that was produced by Graycliff in the Bahamas.
