Negotiant Monopole

At the 2016 IPCPR Trade Show Negociant Monopole, a project dubbed as a collaboration as a collaboration between Tatuaje and L’Atelier Imports was showcased at the booth shared by both companies. Now retailers have begun to see this line arrive at stores.

The term negotiant has ties to the wine industry – something both companies have drawn parallels with over the years. In this case, it is who purchases grapes juice or wine from other vineyards. A negotiant may bottle the wine under his own name either as is or after blending with other wines.

The blend itself features an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over a double binder – one of which is a San Andres Mexican. The filler consists of Nicaraguan tobaccos. Negociant is available in three sizes each packaged in 25 count boxes.

Negotiant Monopole by Tatuaje and L'Atelier Imports

Back in 2012, Tatuaje owner Pete Johnson joined forces with his brother K.C. Johnson and friends Dan Welsh and Sean “Casper” Johnson to form L’Atelier Imports. For the first few years, Johnson has kept the operations of both companies separate. Over time, the two companies have gradually started doing dual events. The Negociant Monopole is the first release to jointly feature both companies.
