Montecristo Espada Estoque Vintage 2002

The Montecristo Espada Estoque, a limited edition offshoot of the Espada by Montecristo line, is returning for a second release. At this year’s IPCPR Trade Show, Altadis U.S.A announced that 2,500 boxes of the Estoque will be heading to retailers this fall. The release is being dubbed the Montecristo Espada Estoque Vintage 2002.

The Estoque Vintage 2002  is a completely different blend than the regular production Espada release. Altadis U.S.A. says the blend consists of a Jalapa wrapper and binder over an all-Nicaraguan filler. Included in the blend are vintage 2002 tobaccos. The Estoque Vintage 2002 comes in one size – a 6 x 50 torpedo. It will be packaged in ten-count leather boxes. Pricing is set at $15.00 per cigar.

The Estoque was first released in 2015. While 5,000 boxes were released at that time, this time there will only be 2,500 boxes.

Like the previous iteration of the Estoque and the regular production Espada line, the Estoque Vintage 2002 comes out of the Plasencia factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.

The name Espada translates to “sword” and it pays homage to the iconic Montecristo logo which contains a sword. TEstoque refers to a flat and elegantly shaped sword used by Spanish Matadors in bullfighting.
