Bombay Tobak has added a new line extension to its MBombay Classic line. The new MBombay Classic Torpedo is heading to cigar retailers. The new offering will be sold exclusively as part of a sampler consisting of Bombay Tobak’s MBombay and Gaaja brands.

In a press release Bombay Tobak stated, “‘Figurados are always a challenge at the factory level. Not to mention, the “Perfectos” and the “Pyramid” shapes’ production always creates a tug-of-war scenario, when a demand is for a ‘Torpedo’  with selective and highly experienced cigar rollers.”

“After all the efforts from training new ‘buncheros’ and the ‘new blood’ cigar rollers, we are very pleased to announce the launch of the MBombay® Classic Torpedo. The cigars are aged for more than 14 months (which will be adhered to for future batches as well).”

While being released as part of the sampler pack, the MBombay Classic Torpedo actually had a soft-launch back in November, 2017 where it was made available to attendees at Cigar Aficionado’s Big Smoke event in Las Vegas.

The MBombay Classic was the first line released by MBombay Cigars. The new Torpedo measures 6 x 52. It becomes the sixth vitola to be released in the MBombay Classic line. Like the other sizes, the MBombay Classic Torpedo consists of a multi-national blend including an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Ecuadorian binder, and filler tobaccos from Peru, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic.

The extra aging required for the MBombay Classic Torpedo combined with the skills needed to roll this cigar result in lower production numbers. This was the rationale for including the Torpedo exclusively in the sampler pack.

The remainder of the sampler pack consists of the MBombay Mora Toro, MBombay Habano Robusto, MBombay Corojo Oscuro Robusto, and the Gaaja Toro. The pack has a suggested retail price of $45.00. If the MBombay Classic Torpedo is priced individually it is $11.95.
