At the 2018 IPCPR Trade Show, Altadis U.S.A. will showcase the third installment in its limited edition Montecristo Grupo de Maestros Private Batch Series, the Montecristo Grupo de Maestros Private Batch IV.

The Grupo de Maestros team represents some of Altadis’ most skilled cigar makers and they have been involved in some high profile Altadis releases. According to Altadis U.S.A., the group has more than 200 years of combined experience. Altadis U.S.A. describes the Grupo de Maestros as:

Alone, the cigar experience of each member is impressive. Combined, their experience is unparalleled. The group draws from their different individual backgrounds and preferences but is united by one goal: to create the world’s best premium cigars. While each member has the talent to blend their own cigars, this unique structure makes the whole greater than the sum of the parts.

The cigars in the Private Batch series represent blends that the Grupo de Maestros created for the members’ own private consumption. Each year the blend and size has differed. The Private Batch IV marks the first time the cigar is a 100% Dominican puro in a 6 3/4 x 48 Churchill format. The cigars feature the line’s signature 100-count trunk boxes. Pricing is set at $16.50 per cigar.

The series was first announced late in 2014, and the first cigar, the Montecristo Grupo de Maestros Private Batch I, made its debut. The following spring, a second release, the Montecristo Grupo de Maestros Private Batch II, made its debut. As mentioned above, Private Batch III was showcased at the 2017 IPCPR.
