It’s a rare occasion when two growers and factory owners team up to collaborate on a cigar, but that’s exactly what AJ Fernandez and Jochy Blanco have done for the San Lotano Dominicano – a  new addition under AJ Fernandez’s San Lotano line.

The cigar combines Nicaraguan tobaccos grown on Fernandez’s farms and Dominican tobacco grown on Blanco’s farms. While Fernandez will be handling the distribution through his company, production will be done at Blanco’s Tabacalera Palma factory. It’s the first time a cigar under the AJ Fernandez Cigar Company brands portfolio is coming from a factory outside of his own.

According to a report by Cigar Aficionado, the blend features a Brazilian Cuban-seed wrapper combined with a Dominican binder and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The San Lotano Dominicano will come in five sizes: Corona (6 x 44), Robusto (5 x 50), Toro (6 x 50), Box Pressed Torpedo (6 1/2 x 52), and Gran Toro (6 x 60).
