While many consider the Davidoff Year of the Snake 2013 as the first installment of the Davidoff Zodiac Series, there was a predecessor that was a more limited release. It was originally released in late 2011/early 2012 under the umbrella Davidoff Cuvee Selection 2012 and was called Davidoff Year of the Dragon. Come December 27, Davidoff will be making a limited amount of these cigars under its Davidoff Vault Series program.

Year of the Dragon was released to the international market. Over the years, select retailers have been able to procure very limited quantities of the cigar.

The blend for the Davidoff Cuvee Selection 2012 Year of the Dragon consists of an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and binder, and all-Dominican fillers. The cigar comes in one size, a 6 x 52. Unlike the original release, the Vault release will be presented in 10-count bundles. Pricing is set at $350.00 per bundle.

The Davidoff Vault Series is a vehicle introduced by Davidoff in 2018. It serves to re-release rare limited editions and other collectible cigars from the company’s history. The releases come out in small batches with allocations split between the Davidoff of Geneva website and select appointed merchants.
