Fratello Cigars announced it is teaming up with W. Curtis Draper Tobacconist to offer a discount on Fratello Cigars to furloughed Federal government employees affected by the U.S. government shutdown.

“Having been furloughed myself back in 2013 while working at NASA, I can tell you the uncertainty and the worry was real for me and my family,” commented Omar de Frias, founder of Fratello Cigars in a press release.

“Being in Washington, DC we see stress of furloughed government employees and we want to help them in their time of need.  Smoking a cigar is a fantastic way to relax and we would like to offer all furloughed government employees a discount on Fratello cigars in their time of need,” added John Anderson of W. Curtis Draper.

In addition, De Frias has said he would offer this program to all of his accounts in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

Details of the discount were not disclosed. W. Curtis Draper can be contacted for more details.

Update (1/26/19): While an end to the shutdown was announced on 1/25/19, De Frias has said the program will continue until government workers receive a paycheck.
