The year 2019 is a big one for La Flor Dominicana. It marks 25 years since Litto and Ines Gomez first entered the cigar business. When Litto and Ines entered the industry, they originally founded a company called Los Libertadores. That company would eventually become La Flor Dominicana. As a result, this year the theme for La Flor Dominicana was to mark that quarter-century milestone.

Highlighting the celebration is the La Flor Dominicana 25th Anniversary cigar. It’s a limited edition cigar that comes in one size (7 x 52 Double Corona) and features an Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper. It’s the same wrapper found on the La Flor Dominicana Andalusian Bull, but with a higher priming.

As a part of the 25th-anniversary celebration, La Flor Dominicana had a special ultra-premium cigar cutter known as the La Fleur D’or. The cutter is made of 18k solid gold and adorned by eight genuine sapphires totaling 1.9ct in weight. It also features dual sharpened stainless steel blades The blade also features a silhouette of Gomez with his trademark hat. Gomez was a jeweler and to make this cutter, he commissioned his personal jeweler to design the cutter. Only 88 cutters have been made available (with one brought to the Trade Show). Pricing is set at $16,000.00 per cutter.

Two years ago, La Flor Dominicana introduced a cigar known as La Volcada. That cigar came in one size in the form of a 7 x 48 Churchill. This year the company introduced a 4 3/4 x 34 Petite line extension of La Volcada. The La Volcada Petite will come in six-count tins featuring the same blend as the original La Volcada highlighted by a Mexican San Andres wrapper.
