A Nicaraguan counterpart is coming to Altadis U.S.A.’s Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real line. Last week the company announced the Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real Nicaragua. It’s another collaboration between Altadis U.S.A. and AJ Fernandez. The cigar is expected to launch at the Tobacco Products Expo (TPE) 2020 in Las Vegas and will ship to retailers in March.

“My goal with this cigar is to take the Romeo and Julieta Reserva Real adult consumer on a journey of flavors and aromas using the Nicaragua aged tobaccos,” said Rafael Nodal, Head of Product Capability, Tabacalera USA, the parent company to Altadis U.S.A. in a press release.

The Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real Nicaragua is described as a blend developed by Nodal and Fernandez. It uses only tobaccos grown from Fernandez’s farms in Nicaragua. The cigar will be available in four sizes.

“It is more complex and fuller in body than the original Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real made in the Dominican Republic, but it is not too strong,” added Nodal

It’s the third release done with Fernandez by Tabacalera USA for the Romeo y Julieta line. The other releases include: Romeo y Julieta Crafted by AJ Fernandez (distributed by Santa Clara Cigars) and the Romeo San Andrés by Romeo y Julieta.

Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real Nicaragua ships to stores in March.
