Winter Park, Florida retailer Cigars on the Avenue is celebrating 25 years in business, and United Cigars has two special humidor sets to mark the occasion. The retailer is receiving two exclusive limited-edition humidors from United Cigars representing the popular ultra-premium Atabey and Byron brands, each containing ten cigars.

For the project, proprietor Don Patel and store manager Sean “Doc” Armstrong had frequent discussions on which of the two United offerings was better. After several months of testing each blend, it became a win-w with each getting his own way and the request was made to offer both the Atabey and Byron. Selected Tobacco brand owner Nelson Alfonso was then commissioned to design the humidors.

In a press release, Patel shared, “We fell in love with these cigars the day we tried them. Alfonso’s work and passion in the cigar industry made our decision for us. We wanted luxury; Atabey and Byron are luxury.”

There are a total of 250 numbered humidors: 125 Atabey and 125 Byron. The Atabey Humidor contains ten Toro-sized Atabey Cigars while the Byron Humidor contains ten Toro-sized Byron 21st Century cigars. The Atabey humidors are numbered 001 to 125 and feature a glossy white finish. The Byron humidors are also numbered 001 to 125 and feature a cobalt blue finish.

The Toro-sized cigars do have additional aging compared to other releases. The Byron 21st Century cigars have six years post-roll aging to them and are highlighted by an Ecuadorian Sun-Grown wrapper.

“These personal humidors are sleek and elegant. We were humbled to be a part of this celebration,” said added Oliver Nivaud of United Cigars.

The humidors featured an engraved Cigars on the Ave logo on the top, numbered plaque on the inside and the appropriate regulator and hygrometer. Both cigars feature a custom Cigars on the Ave 25th Anniversary secondary band.

My clientele demands quality”, Patel said, “and once I mentioned we had a tailor-made humidor coming in from Nelson Alfonso, they ordered them before even seeing them.”
