It’s taken a while, but La Palina’s fifth cigar for the annual Tobacconist Association of America (TAA) Exclusive Series is now heading to retailers – the La Palina White Label TAA Exclusive.

The White Label features a Honduran-grown Connecticut seed wrapper over a Mexican San Andrés binder, and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Nicaragua. The cigar comes in one size – a 6 x 50 Toro with production limited to 1,000 20-count boxes.

The La Palina White Label was originally planned as a release for the 2020 TAA Exclusive Series, but ended up getting pushed out. According to a report by Cigar Aficionado, the COVID-19 pandemic led to the delay and caused a production shift from Scandinavian Tobacco Group’s HATSA factory in Honduras to an undisclosed factory in Nicaragua. This also ended up resulting in a different blend. The original version was planned to have Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over all-Nicaraguan tobaccos.

Typically, La Palina has used the TAA Exclusive Series as an early release for a line it is planning on making regular production. La Palina has done this with the previous four installments: La Palina Bill’s Blend (2016; became La Palina Illuminati), La Palina Bronze Label (2017), La Palina Blue Label (2018), and La Palina Silver Label (2019).

Cigar Aficionado also reported the La Palina Goldie releases for 2021 have also shipped.
