Each year, we select cigars and people to be inducted into the Cigar Coop Hall of Fame. For cigars, there are three ways to gain induction: 1) The number one Cigar of the Year for the prior calendar year gains automatic induction; 2) All Cigars assessed “Memorable” at least one year prior to induction are looked at and given consideration; 3) One Wildcard selection. For personnel, we select on industry leader/ambassador and one non-industry ambassador. Selections are made Columbus Day Weekend each year.

Padron 1964 Anniversary Torpedo

Cigar Coop Hall of Fame
Inductee Name: Padron 1964 Anniversary
Inductee Category:  Reassessment of Memorable Cigar
Inductee Year: 2012

The Padron 1964 was named to commemorate the Padron company’s 30th
anniversary back in 1994.  This was when founder (and as of 2012 Cigar Coop Hall of Famer) Jose O. Padron founded
Padron Cigars.  The line is available in both a natural wrapper and a maduro wrapper.   We feel it is the maduro wrapper that has achieved a special place with Padron cigar fans.

The Padron 1964 Anniversary Maduro is a Nicaraguan puro available in a box-press.

At the time of induction there have been twelve vitolas released.   The smoke of the cigar provides flavors of cocoa, leather, earth, cinnamon, and cedar.  The flavors are medium to full-bodied and balanced by medium strength.   The Padron 1964 Anniversary Maduro has incredible construction – providing a great burn and draw.
