My Father Commemorative 911 Limited Edition 2012

For the second year in a row, My Father Cigars and Casa de Montecristo in Countryside, Illinois have teamed up to produce a cigar dedicated to the fallen heroes of the 9/11 tragedy.  This series is called the My Father Commemorative 911 Limited Edition 2012 series.  Like the original My Father Commemorative 911 cigars, there will be two blends.  These blends will differ from the 2011 series and introduce two new wrappers to the line.

The project was a joint effort between My
Father Cigars and Casa de Montecristo in Chicago.  The idea was
suggested by Jeffrey Holst, a firefighter Battalion Chief out of
Lombard, Illinois.  Hoist contacted Casa de Montecristo in Countryside,
Illinois who then teamed up with My Father Cigars and the project was in
motion. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the family members of the fallen firefighters through a charitable foundation.

The  My Father Commemorative 911 Limited Edition 2012 features a Connecticut Ecuador and a Maduro version.   There will only be a single vitola made – a toro.  The original 2011 My Father Commemorative 911 cigars featured a rosado and an oscuro blend.

Like the 2011 series, boxes of the My Father Commemorative 911 Limited Edition 2012 will feature two blends.  Nine cigars of the Connecticut Ecuador will be packaged with eleven cigars of the maduro.   A total of 343 boxes are being sold and it will be a retail exclusive to Casa de Montecristo.  The 343 is symbolic of the 343 fallen firefighters during the 9/11 attacks.

A big difference is the 2012 edition will feature two bands.  The 2011 edition had unbanded cigars.
