Sotolongo Cigars, a new company under the Fabricas Unidas umbrella is getting ready to launch their first cigar. The Hechicera will be a Nicaraguan puro that will be launched in four sizes. Information on this new cigar was communicated to retailers earlier this week.
Sotolongo Cigars is a partnership between Grace Sotolongo and Christian Eiroa. A few weeks ago, a Facebook page announced the launch of the company. Sotolongo has been in the cigar business for several years. She had worked at My Father Cigars before joining Fabricas Unidas prior to the 2013 IPCPR Trade Show.
According to the communication, Hechicera (pronounced Echi-Sei-Rah) is the name of a sorceress who with her beauty and charm, captivates and enchants the affection of the people.
The art work for the packaging was done by a Nimoska Perez Castellon, a friend of Sotolongo. In addition to being an artist, Perez Castellon works as a journalist, radio talk show host, and political commentator. She is also a leader in the Cuban exile community in the Miami area.
Sotolongo Cigars becomes the sixth brand under the Fabricas Unidas umbrella joining CLE Cigars, Asylum Cigars, Wynwood Cigars, Edgar Hoill Cigars, and Pura Soul Cigars.
The Hechicera is targeted for an October release.
