Davidoff has begun shipping its 2013 version of the Golden Band Award cigar, the Davidoff Golden Bands Award 2013.
The Davidoff Golden Band Awards cigar was introduced in 2012 with the Davidoff Golden Band Awards 2012 cigar. This is a cigar that is a limited edition cigar that was awarded to those retailers that were recipients of a 2012 Golden Band Award. The awards program is meant to honor and the company’s best Appointed Merchants that according to Davidoff “truly embody the Davidoff Standard of Excellence”. 2012 marked the first year that Davidoff introduced this program. Once again a cigar is being offered for 2013 recipients. At the 2013 IPCPR Trade Show, a set of Golden Band Awards were issued to U.S. retailers. This September, Davidoff also awarded Golden Band Awards to European retailers a the 2013 Inter-Tabac Trade Show in Dortmund, Germany.
Corona Cigar Company, a recipient of the award in both 2012 and 2013 is reporting the cigar is a Dominican Puro -and like 2012 will once again features Davidoff’s exclusive Yamasa region wrapper. The size is being reported as 5 1/4 x 52 cigar, smaller than the 5 3/4 x 54 sized parejo.
