When we got word of what was planned for the 2015 edition of the Southern Cigar Festival, we knew there was something very special about this event. The combination of a world class venue, the best of the best of the cigar industry, and a host of amenities providing true southern hospitality easily put this as THE “must go” cigar event for 2015. It is our honor at Cigar Coop and Stogie Geeks to partner with the folks behind this event and bring you everything you need to know about this event.
On April 16, 2015 tickets went on-sale via Ticketmaster and at Cutter’s Cigar Emporium for the Southern Cigar Festival. The Festival takes place on Saturday June 6th and will be the largest cigar event ever to be held in the State of Georgia. The Southern Cigar Festival brings together 30 cigar manufactures from nine different countries. The event is being held at a world class venue, the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Encore Park. But the real differentiating factor is going to be how this event will incorporate true southern hospitality into the event. Perhaps no better way to experience the event is through the VIP packages being offered this year.
Russ Sutton, the owner of Cutters Cigar Emporium is the man with the vision behind the event. As Sutton said in an interview with Kevin Jenkins from Chef and the Fatman, “Everyone that comes to the event is a VIP”. That being said, the Southern Cigar Festival is offering some very special packages that will enhance the overall experience of the festival for those who desire to do show.
The VIP Premium Ticket
The VIP Premium Ticket package gives you all of the amenities you get with the Premium Ticket Package, but there will be extra perks. While there is plenty of ample parking the day of the event, your VIP ticket will give you parking up close to the venue. From there, there will be a special entrance where you will be able to enter the event early. You will walk down a red carpet as you enter the venue. VIPs will be granted early access to the event at 12:30pm.
There will be a VIP Reception Area with plenty of outdoor seating. The VIP Reception will take place from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM. A BBQ will be provided along with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. As a part of the event, there will be a meet and greet with many of the cigar industry personalities that will allow for a more intimate setting to interact with them.
In addition, the VIP ticket entitles you to extra cigars above and beyond the 30 cigars you get with the Premium Ticket.
There will be only 100 VIP tickets made available. The cost is $225.00 but gives you a total value of $400.00 for the day. Tickets can be obtained through Ticketmaster.
Private VIP Boxes
A unique feature of the Southern Cigar Festival is the Private VIP Box option. This allows a group such as a cigar club or a retail shop to sponsor their own private space at the venue. The box comes with 6 to 10 comfortable chairs as well as a table. Each box will be adorned with a “reserved sign” with the group’s name. The boxes even contain a button that can be pressed to obtain table service – something very unique to a cigar event.
