Almost 21 years ago, Arturo Fuente cigar debuted the first OpusX cigar. This was a project featuring a Dominican grown wrapper from the Fuente farm. Opus X would go on to become one of the most iconic premium cigar brands in the history of the cigar business. Now two decades later, Arturo Fuente is getting ready to release a cigar to commemorate the occasion – the Fuente Fuente Opus X 20 Years Celebration.
The Fuente Fuente Opus X 20 Years Celebration first made its debut at the 2015 IPCPR Trade Show, but did not make it to market. It was once again showcased at this year’s trade show.
Cigar Aficionado reported some details of the blend. The Fuente OpusX 20 Years Celebration will is a new blend that features a Dominican Shade-grown wrapper. The cigars will be available in four sizes.
The most striking feature is the packaging and the banding – which is highlighted by the use of blue. Carlos Fuente Jr. informed Cigar Aficionado the blue pays homage to both a river that runs alongside the Chateau de la Fuente farm and because blue was used on the labels of early Arturo Fuente cigars. The boxes adorn the signatures of Fuente Jr. and the late Carlos Fuente Sr.

An exceptional smoke. No touch up. Even burn with 1.5 of ash before the fall.

Not a very good smoke in my opinion Had some blow outs and the wrapper unraveled. Taste was obviously different from the other OpusX cigars but did not impress me. I’ve had better for a lot less money. I hope age does these some good.
