At the 2019 IPCPR Trade Show, Powstanie Cigars released a limited edition cigar known as the Powstanie Wojtek.
The Powstanie Wojtek is an offshoot of the brand’s Powstanie Habano Perfecto. The blend has been modified to include a San Andres Maduro leaf used as a barber-pole wrapper along with an Indonesian binder and Nicaraguan filler. Like the Powstanie Habano Perfecto, the Wojtek is a 5 x 50 perfecto. The cigars are presented in 21-count boxes and production is limited to 500 boxes.
The name Wojtek refers to “War Bear” and refers to a Syrian Brown Bear that was exactly enlisted in the Polish army during World War 2.
Powstanie is the brand owned by Mike and Greg Szczepankiewicz based in Deltona, Florida. The brand produces its cigars out of the Nica Sueño in Estelí, Nicaragua and distributes through its own company Pospiech Cigars.
The Powstanie Wojtek shipped to retailers shortly after the 2019 IPCPR Trade Show was completed.
