Selected Tobacco has announced it will have to miss the 2024 PCA (Premium Cigar Association) Trade Show. While the company will not have a booth present, its products will still be showcased by United Cigars, its U.S. distributor.
According to a press release from United Cigars, the issue initially came up during the 2023 PCA Trade Show from Spain’s ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) restrictions that have impacted international travel plans for Nelson Alfonso, owner of Selected Tobacco. United Cigars says that since Alfonso may not be permitted to travel to PCA, Selected Tobacco decided not to secure booth space at this year’s show.
“We understand the importance of Selected Tobaccos’ presence at the PCA Trade Shows, and we share the disappointment of their absence,” said Oliver Nivaud, Director of Operations at United Cigars. “Despite the current challenges, we are actively working towards a positive outcome and remain hopeful that Nelson will receive the necessary authorization to personally attend.”
While Selected Tobacco will not have a separate booth at PCA 2024, Alfonso is still working to be present at the United Cigar booth, where his company’s products will be on display.
