Altadis U.S.A. has announced the latest release to its Montecristo brand, the Montecristo M. It’s a limited-production cigar line slated to be released by the end of the year. Details were first announced to Cigar Aficionado earlier this week.
The Montecristo M is produced in Nicaragua by AJ Fernandez. It’s a cigar that features all Nicaraguan tobaccos for the binder and filler. The wrapper is Ecuadorian Connecticut, grown by A.S.P. Enterprises. The report and Altadis U.S.A. both say the wrapper has been aged 20 years. Because of the aging required for the wrapper, the Montecristo M will be produced in limited quantities.
The M is presented in 20-count boxes and available in four sizes, but the Toro size is also being made available in five-packs.
- Robusto: 4 3/4 x 54 (SRP $30.00/cigar)
- Toro: 6 x 52 (SRP $32.00/cigar)
- No.2: 6 1/4 x 52 (Torpedo, SRP $33.50/cigar)
- Churchill: 7 x 50 (SRP $35.00/cigar)
The boxes include a certificate of authenticity signed by Fernandez and David Perez of A.S.P.
