Crowned Heads has announced its latest, Belgian Blue LE 2024. Belgian Blue is a new limited edition brand joining the company’s portfolio.
The Belgian Blue is a breed of cattle from Belgium. This cattle is known not only for its strength but also for its lean, hype-sculpted, muscular physique, which is termed double-muscling. The double-muscling phenomenon is a genetic condition resulting in an increased number of muscle fibers known as hyperplasia. The strength of the Belgian Blue cattle inspired this cigar. This blend incorporates 75% Ligero.
“Many modern era cigars are intentionally blended to be strong,” commented Crowned Heads co-founder Jon Huber in a press release, “but Belgian Blue was blended to be full in flavor first, full in body second, and the resulting intensity and strength were a by-product of the blend. I’d classify the profile as intense in terms of spice, especially in the retrohale, and strong in terms of body but not in a nicotine- nausea-inducing sort of manner. The blend is comprised of 75% ligero with a textured base, meaning that the base leaves selected have more thickness and texture, resulting in more strength and better combustion. The profile is simultaneously strong and smooth.”
The Belgian Blue LE 2024 features a dark Mexican San Andres wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder and a combination of Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers. The cigar comes in one size – a 6 x 54 box-pressed Toro with 2,000 12-count boxes produced. Belgian Blue production comes from Eradio Pichardo’s TacaNicsa factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. Pricing comes in at $12.95 per cigar.
Belgian Blue begins shipping to retailers in early November
