At the 2025 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, Kafie 1901 Cigars took orders for Stiltsville. This cigar pays homage to a unique aspect of the Miami area’s culture.
The Stiltsville cigar is a tribute to the iconic wooden structures that rise above the shallow waters of Biscayne Bay, located just off the coast of Cape Florida near Miami. The homes in the Stiltsville area are, surprisingly, built on top of stilts and have withstood both hurricanes and the passage of time. Originally, Stiltsville served as a haven for gambling and rum-runners, but over the years, it evolved into a retreat for socialites..
La Aurora produces this cigar in the Dominican Republic. The wrapper is a five-year-aged, triple-fermented Dark Pennsylvania Broadleaf. While the specifics of the remaining blend remain a secret, we know that it incorporates tobaccos aged in 32-year-old fire-cured white oak barrels from Kentucky. Both sizes come in boxes that hold 20 cigars each. La Aurora produces only 500 boxes for each size.

“This project is about storytelling,” says Dr. Gaby Kafie, founder of Kafie 1901 Cigar, in a press release. “Nearly three decades ago, I was drawn to Miami because of its soul. Stiltsville brings to life the beauty and mystery of the place that captured my imagination. It’s my love letter to this city.”
Stiltsville is also special to Dr. Kafie because it was there he discovered his passion for fly fishing. “I am a lover of the ocean and the artistry behind fly fishing. This creation is a testament to my life story, my journey over the past 30 years, and what the city of Miami truly has to offer,” he adds. “Look beyond the lights and what you will find is paradise.”
