#17 Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Limited edition 2011 – CT Shade

Today’s epic encounter brings us to one of the more unique Connecticut Shade cigars.   This one comes from the Garcia family, who now have three cigars on the countdown.

Coming it at #17 is the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Limited Edition 2011 – Connecticut Shade.  This cigar has been marketed in one of the most unique ways seen in recent memory.   Following IPCPR, My Father Cigars released the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Limited Edition 2011 – which is a maduro.  These cigars are sold in boxes of 16.   Each box is individually  numbered with 15 of those cigars being the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Limited Edition 2011 Maduro.  The other cigar is a bonus cigar featuring a Connecticut Shade wrapper on the same blend.   The word on the street is that the plan is for the Connecticut Shade bonus cigar will be the  Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Limited Edition 2012 release.  It is that Connecticut Shade bonus cigar that is today’s epic encounter.

The Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Limited Edition 2011 Connecticut Shade delivers a lot of flavor.  It features a blast of cedar spice to start.  The cigar then provides notes of butter cream, cinnamon, and pepper spice (a signature of My Father cigars).   This cigar provided a wonderful toast aroma (one of the best aromas I’ve gotten from a cigar in recent memory.  The Limited Edition 2011 Connecticut Shade won’t overpower you – it is mild to medium in strength.   The flavor notes are classic medium-bodied.  As for construction, the burn and draw are as good as it gets.
