Tatuaje Cigars founder, Pete Johnson made a guest appearance on Kiss My Ash Radio and discussed some of the plans for his brand for 2012. Some of this information confirmed some information that had been floating around for some time. There was also some new information as well.
Tatuaje Cojonu 2012
Johnson confirmed three different wrapper cigars will be released under the Cojonu 2012 line. All three will feature Nicaraguan Binder and Filler and will be box-press. There will be The planned release date is March 2012 for two of them – the Connecticut Broadleaf and Ecuadorian Sumatra. There will also be a Habano wrapper version that will be unveiled at the 2012 IPCPR in August.
Monster Series (2012)
Johnson confirmed the next installment of the Mummy Series will be the “Mummy”. He also announced a special series called the Little Monsters series with a June 2012 timeframe. The Little Monsters series will be 10 cigar sampler consisting of two smaller sizes cigars of each of the Monster Series blends. There will be 5000 samplers (boxes) produced. The plan is for these cigars to be approximately 4 to 6 ring gauges smaller, and about 2 inches shorter in length.
The five cigars of the Little Monster series will be:
Frank Jr. (Based on the Tatuaje Monster Series Frank)
Little Drac (Based on the Tatuaje Monster Series Drac)
Baby Face (Based on the Tatuaje Monster Series Face)
Wolfie (Based on on the Tatuaje Monster Series Wolfman)
Mini Mum (Based on the upcoming Tatuaje Monster Series Mummy)
Johnson gave an example for a feel for one of the sizes. He used the Baby Face as an example of being 4 3/8 x 50.
My Father La Duena
This is not a Tatuaje release. The La Duena is the long-rumored “Janny Garcia” cigar for My Father cigars. Johnson confirmed he has been involved in the blending and packaging artwork around the La Duena.
